Here I am Saturday night; no fun things to do, instead I have to figure out how to do a power point thing for tomorrow morning. I need to quit putting things off! Someday...
I finally got to do something fun last night, and wouldn't you know it, we go to a comedy show, and a fight breaks out! Two comedians were there-- a Bonnie mcFarland and a Rich Voss, and some people on the front row were heckling McFarland, then kept on doing it when Voss came out. She had already dissed them by saying how nice it was the tiny platinum blond would go out with her "father," since her date was at least thirty years older. But then they kept on after being told like five times to be quiet, and the Glazers came over and sat behind them ( very big guys, for owners, and probably were bouncers once upon a time) and when the guys told them to get out, one of the mob-looking "Soprano" type guys stood up and began punching the owner. Then there were 10-15 people fighting, the bar chicks were standing on chairs shouting "Get out!" which I thought was for us, the audience, but they must have meant them. Finally they were forced out and Overland Park police came and arrested them.
Wouldn't it have been great if they had started shooting or the cops had arrested everybody? I was just sure one of those things would happen. I wanted to leave, but Andy said we had to stay inside, because the fight was going to go outside and we'd be safer in. Sam was at a sitter's the whole time.
at least the comedy show was still funny after the fight was over. What cracked me up was that the gossip columnist for The Star was there, taking notes for his Wednesday column...
